Spring is Coming!

A time to replenish my painting supplies and shake off the comfort of the indoors. We’ve had a “false Spring” in California so I’ve already been out plein air painting. While my studio is my sanctuary, being out in nature brings me artistic renewal and balance. The reverence I experience from reflecting on all that we garner from nature, our oxygen, food, shelter, stability, becomes an antidote to life’s difficulties. When I paint for myself and love my work,it often resonates with others and keeps me painting new area and ideas.
In April of this year I will be attending the Second Annual Plein Air Convention in Monterey. Last year I spent a week painting with a friend at the Warnecke Ranch Artist Residency in Alexander Valley. In 2012 both Lapis Gallery in Denver and The Studio Gallery in San Francisco included my work in their shows. This October 12-13 &19-20 I will once again participate in Artrails Open Studio.
